welcome to the 50th Ward

The most diverse and wonderful community in the City of Chicago.

Meet Alderman Debra Silverstein

Hello to all my friends and neighbors in the 50th Ward. I am always available and happy to help with any city needs. I hope to hear from you soon!

A Message from Alderman Silverstein

“The 50th Ward is the most diverse and wonderful neighborhood in the City of Chicago. There is nowhere else where you can visit an Indian restaurant, a Kosher bakery, and a Muslim bookstore all within a few blocks. If you live here, you know how great it is. If you don’t, come on up and see what the 50th Ward has to offer!”

Hugh DevlinAnother week with no news on the Western Avenue Corridor Study. Here you are in 2022: Silverstein newsletter, February 18, 2022: Western Avenue Corridor Study Focus Groups "Help shape the future of Western Avenue! Join a focus group and help reimagine a five-mile stretch of Western. Click here to fill out an interest form for the focus groups. The dates and times of the focus groups have not yet been confirmed, but they should be held in late February or early March. Focus groups will be capped at 10 participants for each segment of the Western corridor in order to promote productive conversation. The Western Avenue Corridor Study will reshape Western from Howard Street in the 50th Ward south to Addison. I have been pushing the city for years for a comprehensive plan to redevelop Western Avenue, and I am very pleased this is finally becoming a reality." Why did you urge us to participate? Why did I and my neighbors participate? Why did you waste my and my neighbor's time? What's wrong with you? https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/sites/western-avenue/home.html

Michael R ButzDrove past it just now...cool!

Dan DelanoCzosnyka, You single handedly do more to raise the amount of times her posts are seen than anyone else. Given your narratives this speaks volumes to your efficacy and capacity to function with different issues. Your OCD is harassing the one jewish representative in a city council about Israel. The depth of your trolling is sad and speaks to your depth and the educational system which failed you. Escape your echo chamber before it's too late

David AbI see you have some frequent visitors here, I would recommend this (obviously meant only for those who engage in relentless harassment): Yes, you can block someone from commenting on your Facebook page, and here's how: as a Page admin, you can either block a specific profile or ban them from commenting on your Page's posts. Here's a breakdown of how to block or ban someone: Block a Profile: Go to the post with the comment from the profile you want to block. Tap the profile that you want to block. Tap "See options", then tap "Block". Ban someone from your Page: Go to the Facebook page you want to manage. Click on the hamburger menu (three lines) in the bottom right-hand corner. Scroll down and select "Settings & Privacy". Click "Settings". In the left menu, click "Blocking". Click "Edit", then click "See your blocked list". Click "Unblock" next to the profiles, apps, or Pages that you want to unblock. Note: When you ban someone from your Page, they will still be able to share content from your Page to other places on Facebook, but they'll no longer be able to publish to your Page, like or comment on your Page's posts, message your Page, or like your Page.

Hugh DevlinMy neighbors and I skim every newsletter hoping for an update on The Western Avenue Corridor Study. OUR LAST UPDATE ON THE WESTERN AVENUE CORRIDOR STUDY, Silverstein’s year-end wrap-up newsletter, December 29, 2023: “Over the last several years, I have been working with the Chicago Plan Commission on the WESTERN AVENUE CORRIDOR STUDY, an ambitious plan to reimagine Western from Howard Street in the 50th Ward south to Addison. The plan has been officially adopted and we are now looking for developers to build up our commercial corridor.”
